As one who regularly flies non - radio, no gps around the country. I can only agree with the others about looking up at the horizon. Often they'll be a huge range of hills or somthing that can give you a quick fix. Also,
in extremis there is always the Sun...
Keeping a good flight log always helps too - some call this 'track crawling' but I generally know exactly where I was max 10 minutes ago - how lost can you get at 65kts..! (don't say a word Aerbabe
