I think you are defending an indefensible position
The AL recruitment process was definitely badly handled and puts the recruitment dept of the organisation in a very poor light with a great many qualified pilots. I don't think that is in dispute looking at the majority posts on the subject
I was a big fan of AL but that is not the case now, I. Am big enough to handle rejection but not blatant corporate ignorance
