I can understand a lot of their arguments, but MB was opened in 1949, not to mention it would have taken a long time to construct. I'd expect residents would've been well aware of their surroundings...
Why move into an area, knowing an aerodrome is in close proximity if you don't feel safe?
Granted there have been a few incidents recently - but trying to convince the government to cease all flight training at MB is really pushing **** up hill.
Where do we/future pilots go? Avalon? Hmm.

Moorabbin Airport is one of the busiest and noisiest airports in the Southern Hemisphere and it caters mostly for trainee pilots (predominantly from overseas)
Cause that's going to rally the troops.. 'you don't belong here'!! PLEASE.
