Wensleydale at one of his early gigs; his rendition of 'Stairway to Heaven' being used as 'pink noise' ECM jamming. His breakthrough came when his collected works were used on victims of
extraordinary rendition* - Sheik Khalid Mohammed cracked less than two minutes into Wensley's 'Layla'. A 'waterboarding' cover story was used as a focus group considered it 17 times less horrific than Wensley's playing.
Wensleydale now lives on a private Island in the Bahamas, funded by royalties from Gitmo, and has Yorkshire pudding and barrels of Theakston's Best delivered by jet every week.
*Wensley's guitar work was in fact how extraordinary rendition got it's name -Someone at the CIA has a very sick sense of humour. Shh! This is still classified.
