I think the point he was trying to make (albeit a moot one) was that you can't actually get enough passengers into an A380 to make a profit.
The guy may have appoint in all economy, over relatively short sectors.

However the facts that most are being operated with relatively high % of premium accommodation and on route networks where even economy tickets hold price with measured last minute fully flexible tickets (Little discounting) and this suggests yields are rather good and profitability more than adequate.
Its certain BA have considered this with their deployments so far - LAX/HKG/JNB and SIN.
