I remember they also moved SYD to Mixed Fleet from World fleet, that reduced the operational costs. I believe crew have 2 days off in SIN, 1 day off in SYD and a further two off in SIN before returining back to EGLL.
I've also heard about BA possibly going via HKG to Australia instead of SIN.
I think the 787-900 will be used on some 777 routes also. It seems likely that BA will be ordering only twins and not 4 engines 4 longhaul
