Airlines, especially premium carriers, have realised this and are spending hundreds of millions of dollars trying to offer better in-flight entertainment than their rivals.
Eeeee, I think they realised it a while back! I recall VS introducing hand held video 8 players in Upper Class (with a small library of tapes) to provide a personal view. That was just a few days ago ... 26 years worth of days ago.
