That's quite a good point. The 737 has never been used by TCX and runs counter to the long term plan to be a 100% Airbus fleet sometime in the future. Although training up the CWL crews to work on the 73 is not a big issue, it throws up problems in terms of availability of sby/relief staff. There are not enough full time crew at CWL to run the operation throughout the summer and crews from other bases would be required at some point. Therefore, I don't think the 73 would work, unless it was fully crewed by the sub-charter airline. Then, of course, what would they do with the Airbus employees at CWL. I am wondering if the lateness of the announcement is due to not being able to source a suitable A320 from an ACMI, Small Planet has been in the frame and has recently taken delivery of another 320, but that one is now in operation and painted, but still no announcement. The plot thickens!
