That works out as an average passenger number. Bristol's Express bus service which has been operating for 15 years and runs more frequent service has average of approximately 11 or 12.
The Cardiff Airport Express needs an average of 8 passengers per journey for it to be profitable according to Prof Stuart Cole.
What has to be taken into consideration is that the service was announced by the Welsh Government on the same day as the media was covering the visit of the world's largest passenger aircraft at Cardiff Airport (27th Jul 13) and commenced shortly later.
The service has not been operating for a whole year yet so will be interesting to see the figures for Summer 2014.
