KQ uses an obsolete, archaic method to recruit pilots and this why it is forever short of them!
They rely on DEFTEC to administer tests that even the RAF no longer uses! For some strange reason KQ has refused to adopt modern recruitment methods despite the fact that they have a modern training centre! You can't do the same thing over and again and expect different results, its outright ridiculous!
I sat my KCSE in 18 years ago, how on God's good earth would I remember how to solve quadratic equations or balance a chemical equation, how relevant is it to flying?!
So long as KQ stubbornly sticks to this mode of recruitment they will NEVER get the numbers they want! It's time KALPA addressed this issue seriously!
