It depends on your financial status.
Are you looking at an A-320 rating, inclusive of line training with an airline without a job guarantee?
No airline or recognized rating agency here gives a job guarantee after your rating & line training is finished with them. And what if by chance you do get into an airline job that needs a B-737Ng rating? Pay enormous amounts again for this?
If no other avenue is open, try the instructional route as an API. At least it will keep you in touch with hands on flying without the costs of building additional hrs and keep your licences valid. Moreover, your aviation knowledge base will increase.
