I think i remember that one. (I think...not because i am getting old, just i was 13 at the time and an air mel pilot let me sit up front on a BN2 - that's were i got hooked.)
Definitely Air Mel, Vanuatu, YJ-RV3 Circ. 1989, Fuel exhaustion after a flight from Tanna, only just made Efate, near white sands country club.
We watched it go past the front of our house on a truck a few days latter.
If i remember correctly the pilot at the time may have been one KB, no injuries, damage was a result of coconuts trees lying on the ground concealed in the grass.
