You pass the ATPL exam only when you pass written and orals both.

1 Crore years ago when all of you were vary passionate about flying COE used to send home a result card.Green for GEN and RED for Tech.The result card used to bear Date of exam marks and result.
Validity of the exam used to be The date of Printed on the Result Card + Validity (Not the date of Exam,Date of result)

The result card would be printed only after the oral result is declared.

Hence the Date of Oral result has always been governing.

I know what I am talking about because I applied for my atpl in the 12th month of the 5th year!
