- Squawk 1201 before entering the SFRA
- Have a current Los Angeles VFR Terminal Area Chart
- Navigate via the SMO 132 degree radial
- Fly southeast at 3,500 MSL or
- Fly northwest at 4,500 MSL
- Airspeed below 140 KIAS
- Turn on strobes, beacon and navigation position lights.
- The landing lights are also recommended
