Theres nothing to stop QANTAS shutting the asbestos filled doors and restarting the QANTAS "BRAND" under a subsidiary company.
Nothing, except that section 27(8) of the Civil Aviation Act says QAL’s AOC is not transferable to the subsidiary company, and the condition imposed QAL’s AOC by CAO 82.0 section 3 would prevent the subsidiary from ‘borrowing’ the AOC without CASA approval.
An application by the subsidiary for an AOC, or by QAL for approval to allow the subsidiary to ‘borrow’ QAL’s AOC, would be a
very interesting test of CASA’s independence and integrity.
