ORK-Paris FK50?

aer lingus.................Sir, or Madam, I am in a position to assure you that your memory may very well be flawed in this matter. EI, NEVER EVER, operated a scheduled service between ORK and any Paris airport, with a Fokker 50 aircraft. There may, however, been a once off (maybe twice off) operation with this aircraft type for a charter type operation for a rugby international or some such like. Rennes, in NW France, was as far south from ORK that they operated. Perhaps you travelled on this?.In the 1990s City Hopper (KLM ) did operate a seasonal Cork - Rotterdam FK50 flight but this proved not to be a permanent fixture. I have no idea why this service did not last, but most of us can guess. 840 is fairly spot on when he says that turboprop aircraft have their limitations in terms of range and comfort. Personally, I am a huge fan of turboprops..quieter and more fuel efficient...but about 1.5 hrs is the optimum flight leg, at least in my opinion.
