Nova Airways Boeing 737 nose gear collapse at Juba, Sudan

At December 19 a Nova Airways Boeing 737-500 had an incident at the runway of Juba airport in South Sudan when front tire on plane blew out as it landed . From a photo posted on Facebook it is clear the nose gear collapsed. Passengers and crew are okay.

aircraft arrived from Entebbe.

The incident comes at a very unpleasant moment. Most foreigners living in South Sudan are being evacuated because of the etnical violance in the county. On Wednesday army factions clashed killing up to 500 people and raising fears of a broader civil conflict in the two-year-old nation.

42 aircraft inbound to Juba had to divert because of the Boeing blocking the runway. Most of those flights are likely to be for evacuation of people.
