Actually an appropriate response would have been:
If you considered it a threat to the safety of passengers, crew or aircraft why did you say nothing at the time?
This is one of those comments where one thinks:
"I must have misunderstood, no-one can be
THAT dim..."
And then counts to 10 before responding....
