If you have a chance, compare conditions on offer at the airlinewhichcannotbenamed. There is a chap there now who has been a sim instructor for both and says he has much more time off, he is uniformed and treated as a captain, the money is greater, the housing is better, and some sim instructors do double-duty as line audit pilots so there is a little travel and variety on offer when the audits involve layovers. He also says it is far, far more relaxed in every respect to work there.
I find the latter very easy to imagine.
