Golden Eye,. .. .Many congratulations on passing your AIB, you should be very proud.. .. .However, when the final decision comes through make sure that you know exactly what you want. If you want to be a pilot, I mean really be a pilot, I'd suggest not taking Observer.. somewhere down the line you wouldn't want to end up thinking "What if/Why didn't I.." Do you see what I mean?. .. .I have met several RN Observers fresh out of BRNC and they were very excited about the job, as that was what they wanted. If actually flying is what you want, and it's not an option in the Navy, why not try the RAF or the AAC.. .. .Regarding work should you leave the Navy, that is a tough one. Many people struggle because there is not really a demand for Observers in civvie street. That's a long time away, and somewhat of a generalisation, but something to consider nonetheless.. .. .In the meantime, try popping a quick question in the "Questions" or "Military Aircrew" forum.. someone more helpful will probably answer it over there.. .. .GOOD LUCK with your results and I wish you all the best.. .. .Remember the words "Cardiac Hill" if you do go to BRNC!! . .. .Tucano
