If any pilot wants to transfer from Qantas to Jetstar Strambie agreed a long time ago that all training costs will be paid by Qantas. (Fact)
Furthermore some Pilots are on annual leave from Qantas whilst doing the endorsement training. So not only are the training costs covered. So to the wages bill.
