The company's financiers forced their hand with the redundancies. I am confident that the owners would not have chosen this action on their initiative.
As for the redundancies 'en masse' - 4x FOs were given redundancies (2 accepting voluntary redundancy). The other two have both got their jobs back!
Yes, in hindsight, it was a poor action to take, but unfortunately it is not always the management of businesses that make the choices regarding work force and financial matters.
