The only jet on that route is the ERJ 145. Not sure where the pax were sitting to see "huge amounts of sparks coming out of the right-hand engine, like firework fountains. Flames began shooting around the back of the engine".
The last row of the 145 is still well forward of the engines.
Anyone have any facts?
