Count on it. While I do suspect in this particular case there's more to the story than meets the eye, I think sqawk7700 is dead on. Home invasions and robberies are only going to increase. Friend moved to Lamma; within 6 months his place had been broken into 4 times. No one ever sees anything. Getting similar reports from the low rises around DB. Constant break ins. Seems to be a bubble developing in guard dogs and CCTVs over there.
Don't let Hong Kong's general reputation for safety lull you into complacency.
