'Mongo', the Nav Rad on my first Vulcan crew, had been in Wing Weapons at RAF Bruggen during the Cold War and didn't believe one needed to speak much German.... "Just shout at the bug.gers! They appreciate it and will click heels, answer with a
"Zu Befehl!" and get on with it. Germans appreciate being given orders to follow!"
Quite the diplomat. Darn good Nav Rad though.
