casa is out of touch with the Aviation Industry

From casa's annual report at page 61:

Initiative 3.4.1
Enhancing CASA’s relationship with the wider aviation community

Measure Continuing to provide accurate and timely information to the wider aviation community on aviation safety issues, including making effective use of the news and social media to deliver key messages

Result

During the year, 45 media releases were issued and 349 tweets posted. CASA now has 2,052 Twitter followers. The media published 1,012 stories mentioning CASA. CASA’s YouTube channel has recorded a total of 20,500 views.

CASA’s monthly e-newsletter, The CASA Briefing, currently has more than 12,500 subscribers.
Well done casa!!

This thread [CASA crows about Social media], started on 27th September 2013, now has 3236 views and 30 posts -5 weeks and 3 days - some 38 days.

A better measure as to the effectiveness of pprune, is the Senate threads, which have a combined 3983 posts and 880,728 reads - maybe casa needs to read and listen to us.

This is compared to the miserable penetration of the pilot population by the media of just 12,500 out of 39,360 (less than 1/3) of pilots that casa says are licenced. As for t.w.i.t.t.e.r, this does not even get to 6% of the pilot population much less than other "followers".

That does not take account of others, who are not pilots who may read the missives.

When we get to poohtube, I counted 9372 views as per the counter and 386 subscribers at 4th November 2013. The total counter by this point was 27,994 with a further 20 videos added. The number of subscribers versus the number of views only just matches, suggesting that casa is making no headway.

More rubbish stats mr. casa
