Guvnor Your idea although not without merit, is perhaps a little ahead of its time.
It is not as though it is a banking system computer which only causes much irritation when it is down. When it glitches, people die.
Think of it, if every time your ATM, or office computer went funny, two or three hundred people died, population would be under control in two shakes of a duck's tail.
I have recently transitioned from steam driven to high tech, and the amount of glitches and "wierd !!!!!" that I have come across allow me to state with some certainty that the human touch is not likely to be redundant for some time yet.
