The problem is MD that the law is not applied evenly.
Waste licences,red diesel use,no tax/insurance.. none of these result in confiscation of vehicles because plod is scared of the outcome. Dale Farm is a good example.
If the law was applied there or at Cottenham in Cambridgeshire then certain parties would get the message. There was a case in the national press recently where a stolen caravan was located to a certain community but plod refused to reunite it with the legal owner.
I get so wound up when I watch the satellite channels police action stuff because most chases are started by the traffic cars.
