Ndege-5Y, just an observation here. The article you are quoting is from 2006. That was nearly 8 years ago. Anybody involved in the aviation industry in any way will tell you that it has changed significantly since then. Perhaps that means that their mentality has changed as well?
Another point to add, never rely on the media for information. They tend to say whatever it takes to sell newspapers/magazines. I happen to know at least 5 people ex-wilson who left GA and wound up flying for them.
