No doubt his response would be that he's an elected MP representing the interests of his constituents.

Presumably why he's frequently found on record supporting the continuing existence of Heathrow, albeit not its expansion.
and (2) most of his constituents are not under the flightpath and won't be with rwy 3.
I was under the impression his concern was with the interests of his constituents who would be under the concrete, rather than under the flightpath. Again, that would seem to fall within his job description.
