I think the £84k tax free bond repayment is
kind of part of the pay anyway - even though you are correct in stating that it's going back to the bank/family. Had it not been part of the FPP for BA to repay that money then it'd be coming out of your salary (as it will for other guys who join other airlines). So to all intents and purposes, it's like extra pay as far as your month end bank balance is concerned.
That's significant.
