Expect reaction from Aer Lingus re Ryanair growth at Shannon (which have targeted most of Aer Lingus routes' ex-Cork.) I'd give it until October next year for Ryanair's new routes to Berlin, Munich and Nice they won't work from Shannon, Ryanair struggle to compete on the Nice route from Dublin against Aer Lingus operating just 2x weekly, Memmingen won't win German tourists from Munich MUC which is a clear attempt to encroach on that profitable route in Cork. To be honest if this is the kind of growth were going to get from Ryanair which seeks to class it as new growth when really its a massive attempt to flood the market with unsustainable seat volumes, then in that case Cork does not need it. Aer Lingus have faced this before and Ryanair failed, don't except Aer Lingus to roll over and lose a profitable market for them in the South.
