Desert, agreed. That's why I would have fired him for wasting fuel despite being taught how not to!
I suppose there is a possibility that a fuel line let go resulting in the incident but my betting is on the over priming theory.
I also had an instructor who managed to flatten three batteries in a week, again not learning despite extended briefings and demonstrations. I don't believe he instructs any more.
