As someone who has come from the old Continent and now resides and works in the USA the first order of business is whether you have the right to reside and work here. In other words do you hold a US passport or a permanent resident card?
If not then the whole question becomes mute because you will not be granted the right to reside based on the fact you are a qualified professional pilot. The US has plenty of the home grown variety.
If you do hold the right to residency then I would be more than willing to share my experiences.
