I can recommend a company called Avtech2000 for someone who is starting out. They offer a series of courses, most of which offer a recognised City & Guilds qualification at the end. Their website is

UKOMA (United Kingdom Operations Managers Association) run a very good foundation course as well but I believe you have to be in the industry, and sponsored by the company you work for (this is also the best option for you as they pay for the course). Their website is

The best option however is to work in the industry itself. Even in these dark times there are always companies looking out for ops/ramp staff somewhere....
