I think one of the telling points of how easy the travel is from the midlands to Manchester despite these supposed 7 hour journeys and constant roadworks, is the fact when Stoke City were playing European football, all of their team/fan charters used Manchester.
That to me says all of those airlines/teams at the time found the one up north easier to use.....
But surely that is just common sense considering MAN is in theory just over half an hours drive from Stoke; now if it were Villa choosing to fly from MAN it would be a different story :-)
