The fact that Shannon was able to deliver Chicago and Philadelphia so quickly after going Independent is rightly or wrongly seen as evidence that both Cork and Shannon were being held back by the DAA. Cork needs to make a breakthrough to show that it's marketing strategy is working. There's been no new foreign airline enticed there apart from Manx 2 since the now defunct Sky Europe launched Bratislava in 2007.
