Flew for many years into Sanaa, elev 7300' with a DHt of 12000' sometimes, and in the afternoon with TS ringing the surrounding hills.
Best was a visual approach over head airdrome to join the circuit. IFR was over the hills in and out of towering Cu and around CBs.
