Right... So you're saying you think the industry should remain one where only the rich can get into it and those who can't afford to pay for their own training shouldn't get a chance?

Any scheme that is giving a chance to fly for those without the financial means to pay for the training is a step in the right direction. Aer Lingus, and any other airline out there, should be taking the best pilots based on their skills, not on whether they have the money to pay for a license themselves.

Anyone who thinks that it's bad that airlines are doing schemes for unqualified people clearly wants the industry to keep sinking further and further. Going by your logic, why should an airline hire a low experience person with a CPL, instead of going for the person that's paid to be on the right hand seat for more experience?
