Unfortunately, within Europe, once a precedent has been set in one country appellants in others appeal their cases up to the ECHR which favours the idea of extending their remit and enforce it as a common human right to all under their jurisdiction.
Assuming you are right, then the worst that can happen is that any European government that provides forces for UN peacekeeping operations
may be held liable in law for the wrongful conduct of their forces, but only in circumstances where that government had effective control of its own forces at the material time (i.e. they were no longer under effective UN control).
