LBA Weather
I am very puzzled by the factors which influenced the LBA weather on the evening of 1/2 Sept 2013. We landed at approx 01.00 on 2/9. I obtained the London North volmet which gave approximate winds of 250/10 for MAN, EMA and LPL. However the LBA wind was 270/27. Later when we got the ATIS it was 270/27G39. What intrigues me is that the pressure was 1022 and it was CAVOK.
Why does LBA suffer from such winds in high pressure, CAVOK conditions? Is some kind of katabatic air flow the cause?
