To me it seems heavy and slow
Well it is an iPhone
4 my dear. I can assure you the current generation is neither heavy or slow.
and i don't like that you have to do everything through iTunes
As you've concluded yourself, other phones will have their own admin apps.
To be honest, iTunes isn't that bad, it just gets on with the task at hand without fuss.
