a bunch of us went into Sandown today, it was just the way you want a grass airfield to be. Busy but not too busy. Carla's cafe was doing a steady trade and service was quick, prices good. They still don't seem to have fuel but that is not a problem for us, we can do the round trip from Brimpton with good reserves. The runway is a bit bumpy and hard as concrete but given the weather recently it is to be expected.
A good place to chill on a weekday afternoon.
