If you revalidate your IR before its date of expiry, and if you did your renewal in an aircraft last year (which you would have done if it was a renewal), you can revalidate your IR this year in an FNPT2.
You cannot revalidate your MEP in an FNPT2 - it has to be done in the aircraft.
But there is no point in revalidating your MEP unless you plan to fly an MEP aircraft in the next year. The airlines do not need it to be current, and not having a current MEP does not affect your ATPL ground credits.
So I suggest that you revalidate your IR in an FNPT2 (although this will have to be done at an ATO), and leave your MEP renewal until next year when you will have to revalidate/renew your IR in an aircraft anyway.
