I flew over Ballyhalbert this morning and what a pleasant place it must have been in its day. I do not know who owns it nowadays, but the runway looked like it would be quite feasable to bring back into service. Of course that was from albeit low height and at ground level the surface may be shot.
If I owned it, it would be a flying club base or at least a glider/para site. Though off course splash landing would be sporty.
