I remember one of first navs, I had to find a road junction with a house, something stupid like that.
I flew to a point and looked at the ground and said to the intructor I felt the place was a few miles to the west, he said that I was wrong and pointed to a place a mile or two to the east and said that was it, and then proceeded to tell me how I had made my mistake.
We then had to fly in an westerly direction for the next leg of the nav and believe it or not the silly little place was where I said it was.
The instructor then mumbled something along the lines of "smartarse"
