I'm astonished for two reasons:
1. That happened even at the end of the 70s - when Bas was safely and happily ensconced in civil aviation.
2. That a batman would do such a thing. Even in the 60s/early70s the great batmen seemed to 'know' when one had company and two cups of tea would be left discreetly OUTSIDE one's room.
