I've flown in lots of places across the world and almost always with an instructor .. simply because I am not familiar with local proceedures and airspace and don't want to spend my whole flight head down in a chart making sure I don't infringe some airspace or TRA or restricted area and that I am on the right frequency.

Sometimes there are no proper VFR charts (caribbean islands and canary islands) so you really need somebody local to keep you safe and on track.

That said, I have yet to find anywhere (apart from Italy) that doesn't welcome me and my money and have always had a thoroughly instructive and enjoyable time.

Go for it get it signed off and I'll be amazed if you cannot book the time as p u/t.
