I recall the spooks briefing us about the Kiev class carrier's weapon systems - and the strange looking device they'd noted which they termed Tin Man. They deduced that it was an active l.aser dazzling/blinding device ; however, it is now known to be a passive electro-optical tracking device which contains FLIR, LLTV and l.aser rangefinding systems.....
