Hi Flexpwr,
No disrespect, but I don't buy the flap handle position thing. Unless it is a gross error from Airbus.
Please see FCOM Aircraft Systems,27 Flight Controls, 30 Flaps & Slats, 20 Controls & Indications, - Pedestal:


Flap Handle Position 2 & 3; Slats = 22°
Flap Handle Position Full; .. Slats = 27° ( >3 in QRH table).
